Scion music server

Troubleshooting

Can’t connect to the Scion server, either the dashboard or the Roon application
1. Check whether your Scion streamer is powered on: LED in the front must be shine bright.

2. Check whether the network cable is correct connected from switch to the network port.

3. Make sure your remote device (computer, phone or tablet) is in the same network as the Scion server.

4. Turn off the Scion by a brief press on the front button and restart.

5. Try another network cable.

6. Check if the LEDs near the LAN port are blinking.

7. Check if the modem is set to DHCP.

8. Reboot your network to resolve any issue that may be preventing it from functioning correctly.

I can see music playing in Roon, but there’s no sound
1. sure the Scion and the DAC are connected with the correct digital cable.

2. if the output in the Scion server is the same as the input of the DAC. I.e. USB out in the server -> USB input on the DAC.

3. Try another digital cable.

4. Shut down the Scion, disconnect the power cord for 10 sec, and restart.

5. Check if volume control is enabled, and set to a correct volume.

6. Make sure all cables are connected correctly.

The Scion server sounds harsh or oversaturated in my system
The Scion music server is very sensitive to cables. Because of the open and detailed character of the Scion it can go into the wrong way when connecting silver cables, or cables that contain silver. Before doing anything, try to listen to copper or gold cables first.

Humming sound from the transformers
1. Make sure the AC polarity is correct.

2. There must be no DC on the power lines.

3. Try another power cord.

4. Make sure there’s a good grounding solution.

5. Connect the Scion directly to a wall outlet and not to a filter or regenerator.

The Pink Faun Scion falls in save mode: blinking LEDs around the front button
1. This means that the supply control unit checking the linear power supply registered unusual activity. There will be a code generated indicating what the issue is.

2. When the streamer falls in save made, try to reset the streamer first by removing the power cord for 30 seconds and restart with all cables disconnected.

3. Connect every cable one by one.
