Connecting the cables
It is recommended to power the Scion server straight from the grid, using AC-voltage depending on your location. The AC-input voltage is specified on the rear panel of each unit. Double check whether the input voltage matches the grid voltage of your location.

- For the best musicality, we use dedicated power transformers for each specific grid voltage specified during ordering your Scion server.

A properly designed power supply is already a very efficient filter, this is no different with the power supply in your Scion. It is recommended to power the Scion directly from the grid, not using a regenerator or galvanic isolation. Of course, you are free to try what the effects of these possible solutions might bring, as not every situation is the same and various circumstances may need different measures.

Please be sure there is a good grounding circuit in the grid from which the Pink Faun Scion is powered. A lot of effort has been put into motherboard, power circuity, and chassis grounding, as proper grounding is an essential factor in the overall performance of the Scion server.

- The Scion music server needs an active network connection to be able to operate. There is one network port on the back panel of the Scion server.

The Scion server comes by default with the digital output board. This digital output board is a dedicated high-quality USB 2.0 interface. There’s also a high quality, galvanically isolated SPDIF output.

- Make sure that always good, tested and high-quality cables are used. Digital signals are sensitive to inductance, resistance and capacitance, therefore make sure your digital cables are always within the specifications.
