Scion music server

General set-up

Placing your Pink Faun Scion music server
The Pink Faun Scion music server is a sensitive device when it comes to vibration and power delivery. For maximum musicality it is recommended to place the Scion on a firm, resonance-free surface. Four footers are directly attached to the subframe of the Scion for maximum energy and vibration management. Be sure all four footers are equally placed on the surface. It is also recommended to keep the Scion away from devices that can have high HF/RF noise radiation like Wi-Fi routers, DECT/mobile phones etc.

The Scion is built with an advanced linear power supply, resulting in multiple regulators feeding every part inside independently. Make sure the power delivery to your Pink Faun is of high quality; this means ‘clean’ and stable voltage, no DC on the wall outlet and good grounding.

Be sure there are no devices with a switching power supply (SMPS) near or in the same electrical network as the Scion music server. An SMPS will not only pollute the device it is powering, but it will also pollute other devices in the same electrical network!

The Pink Faun Scion is a passively cooled machine. There are no fans used to cool down the music server. Because of its design, the Scion will generate heat. Make sure there is a significant amount of free space around the unit or place the unit on top of the audio rack. When placing the Scion in a (closed) cabinet or any other place without sufficient airflow, we cannot guarantee the best performance of the music server. Also, there is a greater change of failure of the device because of overheating.
