Pink Faun high-end Audio

As owner of the first ever build set of Pink Faun 300B monoblocks, at first it feeled like jumping into the blue. Of course I trusted the technical knowledge and "ears" of Mattijs de Vries. He already builded a custom pre amplifier on my specifications, and I had heard the prototypes of the monoblocks and his other systems. All sounded really great to me, very open, detailed, neutral and above all muscial sound. Without exageration I think his equipment plays at the highest level possible. In the last 20 years a lot of so called esotheric audio equipment have moved in and out my house, because of this I think I have gained a quite good frame of reference. In my opinion enough to give a resonable neutral opinion.

Still it is very exciting to hear the first tones of a pair of brand new amplifiers in your own system. From the first moment, despite the fact that it still had to break in, the potential of this amplifiers was already clear to me. With only 7 watts the sound is very controlled and powerfull, in a way only a tube can do. Open, subtile, souvereign, with the famous 300B midrange, but without compromises to the high and low end of the audio range. The combination of amorpheous transformers, the directly heated driver tube and above all the TJ meshplate (I really like them!) do miracles. But of course you have to be able to combine these high level parts to an amplifier of this class. Only few can do that, and Mattijs de Vries is one of this select group of persons.
